Mississippi State, UMMC to host Marian Wright Edelman Lecture
The Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Mississippi State University will host the 3rd-annual Marian Wright Edelman Lecture on Sept. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to noon in Jackson.
The 2016 Distinguished Lecturer is Michael Espy, former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, former U.S. Representative from the 2nd District of Mississippi, and attorney at Morgan & Morgan. The lectureship will focus on food and food systems as social determinants of health.
