Registration for Safe Zone's spring training session begins Monday
Safe Zone is a campus-wide program at Mississippi State that promotes a welcoming and safe community for LGBTQ students, faculty and staff. Safe Zone Allies, who have completed awareness training, are individuals committed to providing and maintaining a safe and supportive campus environment for the university's LGBTQ community.
MSU's Safe Zone Advisory Board encourages interested faculty and staff to register for the spring Safe Zone LGBTQ awareness training scheduled for Feb. 12. The training will be held in the Foster Ballroom of the Colvard Student Union from 1-4 p.m. Snacks will be provided.
Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate and a Safe Zone sticker.
Space is limited for the training session, and early registration is encouraged. Registration will begin on Monday [Jan. 25] at 8 a.m. and will conclude on Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. To register, please visit the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center's web site at www.hcdc.msstate.edu and click on the "Safe Zone Registration" link at the bottom of the page. During the registration process, please include your name, phone number, email address, department/program, and indicate whether you are a faculty or staff member.
