Don't miss 'Managing Property on Sponsored Projects' Tuesday afternoon
Join the Office of Research and Economic Development at Mississippi State for a "Managing Property on Sponsored Projects" seminar on Tuesday [Nov. 3] from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Bost Extension Center theater.
What are the university's responsibilities for managing equipment acquired with a sponsored project? What are specific responsibilities of the principal investigator, business manager, property coordinator, etc.? Why does it matter what source of funds purchased the equipment? Who owns this equipment, and what can be done with it during the life of the project or after the project ends? How is equipment purchased by a subcontractor handled? These questions and many more will be covered.
Presenters for this session include Jennifer Easley, director of Sponsored Programs Administration; Sharon Hamlin, property officer in Receiving and Property Control; and Denise Peeples, assistant controller for Sponsored Programs Accounting.
