Global Engagement Forum to explore dual degree programs Friday

International dual degree programs are becoming increasingly popular on U.S. campuses as American institutions strive to develop their global reputations, recruit more highly qualified international students, and forge stronger collaborative research ties worldwide.

Join the International Institute at Mississippi State on Friday [Nov. 14] from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 255 Allen Hall, and explore the benefits and complexities associated with the creation of such collaborative degree programs. Topics will include recruitment and admissions, accreditation standards, student quality, distance education components, and stimulation of joint research.

Featured guests will be Bailian Li, vice provost for international affairs at North Carolina State University, and Stacey Connaughton, chair of the graduate council task force on dual/joint degrees at Purdue University. Both universities are home to large and successful international dual degree programs.

Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to Mindy Matherne at distance-director@msstate.edu.
