Dunn-Seiler Museum to host Fossil Extravaganza on Wednesday
The Department of Geosciences' Dunn-Seiler Museum at Mississippi State University is an official partner for National Fossil Day, sponsored by the National Park Service. In fact, it is a founding partner of the event, which started in 2010.
In celebration of National Fossil Day, the Dunn-Seiler will have an open house and Fossil Extravaganza on Wednesday [Oct. 15] from 5:30-7 p.m. Refreshments, tours, children's activities and free fossils will be available.
The museum will also unveil the new Gainey exhibit, a gift from Nora Gainey through the MSU Foundation.
Winning entries of the 2014 National Fossil Day art/story contest, which is open to K-12 students in Mississippi, will be on display.
