Global Engagement Forum: Resources for Faculty and Staff set for Wednesday
The International Institute at Mississippi State will kick off the first of this year’s Global Engagement Forums on Wednesday [Sept. 24] from 3-4:30 p.m. in Fowlkes Auditorium in Colvard Student Union.
All interested faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to join us for refreshments and learn more about how we can assist in your international academic, research and outreach pursuits.
Led by Interim Associate Vice President Jon Rezek, the International Institute houses a wide range of expertise in international exchange and collaboration:
-- The Office of Study Abroad coordinates international academic programs for faculty and students.
-- The international research unit promotes and facilitates research and outreach efforts.
-- The English as a Second Language Center offers language and cultural training for international students.
-- The International Services Office advises incoming and outgoing faculty and students on immigration and international travel requirements.
Additionally, the institute’s international engagement and international relations units facilitate collaborations and partnerships with international academic and research institutions, and promote internationalization on campus by maintaining relations with governments and other sponsoring agencies.
During the mid-week forum, each director will present a brief overview of their respective unit and expand upon how they serve the University community and assist in the development of international opportunities, including ample time for questions and answers.
