Adult CPR and first aid training coming up Wednesday

The Office of Regulatory Compliance & Safety and Human Resources Management are partnering to bring Medic First Aid Basic certification training to campus. After participating in the one day session delivered by MSU safety officer Alicia Musselwhite, attendees will be certified to administer CPR and first aid.

Medic First Aid Basic is an adult CPR and first aid training program designed specifically for the occupational first aid provider. This program will help MSU departments in responding to and caring for medical emergencies at work. Topics covered in the program include: assessment, personal safety, clearing and protecting the airway, chest compressions, control of bleeding, managing shock, warning signs of illness, and more.

All MSU employees are welcome to participate in the training. Departments with a high incidence of safety concerns should strongly consider sending a representative to become certified.

This free, certification program is limited to 12 participants per one day session. A minimum of seven attendees must be present to hold the class. Please wear comfortable clothes to the session. Training sessions and locations are as follows:

Wednesday, Aug. 10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room 231, Colvard Student Union
