Eric Benét is busy. The singer, songwriter and actor has racked up plenty of hits -- “Spend My Life With You” is just one -- as well as a gold-certified album -- “A Day in the Life” -- but he was singing long before his debut album released in 1996, and he hasn’t slowed down since.
Coming off a European tour for his 2012 album, “The One,” Benét will perform at the MSU Riley Center in downtown Meridian on Monday [June 16] at 7:30 p.m. A pre-show reception will take place at 6 p.m.
In April, music marketing company BMG/Primary Wave announced that Benét had signed on to produce his next studio album. The four-time Grammy nominee is also slated to host and produce “Sub Stars,” an up-and-coming reality show highlighting singers discovered in subways. The show’s producers are still in the process of raising funds to produce the first season.
In the midst of his career, Benét is also finding time to enjoy fatherhood, as he and his wife recently announced that they are expecting their second child this summer.
