Registration open for Dawg Daze summer camps
Registration is now open for three summer camps where kids can participate in arts and crafts, cake decorating and academics.
Dawg Daze of Summer, sponsored by the Mississippi State University Center for Continuing Education and the MSU Extension Service, offers two weeklong camps with emphases on creative and academic experiences for children ages 5-7 and 8-10. The camps will join together for certain events throughout the week. Activities include Artful Antics, Critter Crafts, Silly Sticky Slimy Science and Data Data Data.
The camps will take place July 7-11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuition is $200 and includes all snacks, lunches and supplies.
Dawg Daze of Summer will also offer a three-day Cake Boss camp for 11-13 year olds interested in cake decorating. Attendees will use fondant to create models of flowers, people, animals and more. The camp takes place June 30-July 2 from 8-11 a.m. Tuition costs $100, and all supplies and snacks are included.
Ashley Fremin, Extension associate with the Center for Continuing Education, said the camps strive to encourage learning in a fun environment.
“Although we put a lot of emphasis on fun, we put an even larger emphasis on serious learning,” Fremin said. “That’s why we design our camps with challenging activities that develop the minds, character and physical health of our children.”
Employee discounts and multiple child discounts are available to offset tuition costs. All three camps will take place on MSU’s campus.
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. For more information about the camps, or to register, visit http://ce.msucares.com or contact Fremin at 662-325-1457.
