The volunteer efforts of Dr. Carla Huston have helped veterinarians and animal rescuers in Mississippi save and treat hundreds of livestock and pets after disasters. An associate professor with the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she is a member of the Mississippi Animal Response Team and oversees the Mississippi Animal Disaster Relief Fund. As the MSU Extension Service veterinarian, she works with veterinary practitioners and Extension agents across the state to keep animals healthy. Famous touring company brings 'Othello' to campus next month
One of William Shakespeare’s most highly regarded tragedies will be staged Feb. 12 at Mississippi State as part of the university’s 2017-18 Lyceum Series. Though composed in the early 17th century, “Othello” is a timeless examination of identity, institutional racism and deceit. To be performed in modern attire, the play is a production of the National Players, America’s longest-running tour company. The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. in the Bettersworth Auditorium of historic Lee Hall.
Collaboration offers Education Expos in South Mississippi
Two Mississippi State University units are collaborating to host a series of expos for potential students in the southern portion of the state. Mississippi State University’s College of Education and Center for Distance Education will host education expos on Monday, Jan. 29, and Tuesday, Jan. 30, at four locations. Geared toward recruitment, the expos will serve as an effort to expand program outreach for community college transfers and non-traditional students who may be interested in MSU. Showcases will be available for additional information pertaining to undergraduate, online and graduate degree programs.

Women's Basketball hosts Florida at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday (SEC Network), and then travels to Oxford on Sunday for a 1 p.m. tipoff against Ole Miss (ESPNU) ...
