MSU Cheese Store: extended hours, holiday orders
The staff at the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station Sales Store, located on Mississippi State University's campus, is encouraging patrons to place orders now for the holidays and to take advantage of products that make great additions to the tailgate. The store's famous cheese and other products sell quickly during the holiday season.

It is now easier than ever to show your spirit for both Mississippi State University and the United Way by purchasing a "Grindin' for My State/This is Our State" bracelet. The bracelets are only $5 each, and proceeds help support the agencies of the United Way of North Central Mississippi.

Heart Health Symposium set for Thursday
Mississippi State employees are invited to learn more about living a heart-healthy lifestyle at the 2011 Heart Health Education Symposium, which will be held on campus Thursday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Foster Ballroom of Colvard Student Union. The free symposium includes lunch. Sign-up deadline is Monday.

Flu shot clinics Tuesday and Wednesday
University Health Services has scheduled a series of flu shot clinics this fall, and the next one will be held Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Mitchell Memorial Library. One is also set for Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the main floor foyer of Lee Hall. In order to keep our campus healthy, everyone is urged to get a flu shot.

Homecoming book sale at MSU Libraries Nov. 5
As a part of Mississippi State University's 2011 homecoming activities, MSU Libraries will host a book sale Nov. 5. Beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until noon, the book sale will be held on Mitchell Memorial Library's second floor Information Mall and will feature special deals on hardbacks and paperbacks.

"Eudora Welty: Mississippi Daughter," an exhibit in conjunction with Mississippi State University's Maroon Edition, is on display on Mitchell Memorial Library's 2nd and 3rd floors through December 2011 and highlights the literary career of Mississippi's much-honored author.

Orders are now being accepted for the biography of Mississippi State's legendary sports broadcaster. "Jack Cristil: The Voice of the Bulldogs" is written by university alumnus and veteran newsman Sid Salter. Best-selling author and fellow alumnus John Grisham is providing the book's foreword.

Mullen to econ students: stats relate to everything
As students in an 8 a.m. principles of macroeconomics course prepared last Friday for a lesson on statistics, head football coach Dan Mullen came in the room and surprised everyone. Instead of the regular instructor, Mullen would be giving a guest lecture on the use of statistical data in collegiate football training and preparation.
Warnock selected for national symposium
James Warnock, an associate professor of agricultural and biological engineering in the university's James Worth Bagley College of Engineering, is among 65 selected to attend the National Academy of Engineering's Nov. 13-16 Frontiers of Engineering Education Symposium in Irvine, Calif.
Benefits open enrollment ends this week
Benefits open enrollment for eligible Mississippi State employees will conclude this week, according to Human Resources Management. Open enrollment changes include adding new coverage, changing existing coverage or canceling coverage. The changes become effective Jan. 1, 2012.
Bush Library director lectures Wednesday
The director of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum will be featured Wednesday at Mississippi State's ongoing Collins Speaker Series program. The public presentation by Alan C. Lowe begins at 2 p.m. in the John Grisham Room of the university's Mitchell Memorial Library.
