Agriculture and Life Sciences honors faculty

George Hopper, Matthew Interis, Ardian Harri, Aaron Kiess and James Warnock


Four faculty members -- Matthew Interis, Ardian Harri, Aaron Kiess and James Warnock -- were honored recently as outstanding teachers in Mississippi State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Interis, assistant professor in Agricultural Economics, received the award for Lower Division Teaching. The award recognizes outstanding teaching at the undergraduate level.

Assistant professor Harri received the Graduate Teaching Award. Harri was recognized for graduate courses he teaches in Agricultural Economics.

Kiess, assistant professor in Poultry Science, received the New Faculty Teaching Award. Kiess was praised for his ability to engage students both inside and outside of the classroom.

Warnock received the Upper Division Award and the Overall Teaching Award. He is an associate professor in Agricultural and Biological Engineering. Warnock was commended on his ability to develop unique problem-based learning for Biomedical Materials courses.

George Hopper, dean of the College and director of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, congratulated the winners for their awards.
