MAFES facilities managers win

Four facility managers in Mississippi State University's Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station were awarded for outstanding facilities in recent ceremonies.

The Face and Image Awards were created to evaluate and reward managers on the appearance and upkeep of facilities. The Experiment Station has 16 off-campus locations, as well as on-campus research facilities.

Keith Daniels received the award for the Black Belt Experiment Station located in Brooksville. He is superintendent of the Black Belt Station, as well as North and South Farm on the university campus.

Sam Tackitt received the award for the Pontotoc Ridge-Flatwoods Branch Experiment Station. He is farm supervisor at the station, located near Pontotoc.

Peter Hudson received the award for the Truck Crops Branch Experiment Station. He is the operations coordinator for the Truck Crops Station, located in Copiah County south of Crystal Springs.

Robert Dobbs received the award for the Prairie Research Unit, which received the most improved station. He is facilities coordinator for the unit located in Prairie, about 13 miles north of West Point.

George Hopper, director of the Experiment Station and dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, presented the awards.
