RTC overview set for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

The Office of Research and Economic Development will host a seminar on the university's Research and Technology Corporation Wednesday afternoon. RTC Director Marc McGee will give an overview of what RTC is and how it can benefit faculty, researchers and entrepreneurs.

Located in the Thad Cochran Research, Technology, and Economic Development Park's new multi-tenant building, RTC is a not-for-profit company organized in 1998 for scientific, literary, charitable and educational purposes. The corporation is designed to take advantage of opportunities not otherwise available to state universities -- for example, taking equity positions in start-up companies or entering certain contractual agreements. It also facilitates the development and incubation of start-up companies and expansion of existing companies that hold the potential to grow the state's economy.

The seminar runs from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the Fowlkes Auditorium in the Colvard Student Union. Please register to attend at http://www.tfaforms.com/191959
