Threadgill named interim 4-H leader

An administrator with almost 20 years of experience as an Extension educator at Mississippi State University is serving as interim head of the Extension service's statewide youth program.

Paula Threadgill will lead the Department of 4-H Youth Development, pending final approval. She will continue as leader for Extension Family and Consumer Sciences.

Gary Jackson, director of the MSU Extension Service, said Threadgill brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the 4-H program.

"She achieved an excellent professional record as a field agent in the Alabama Extension system before coming to MSU, where she has served as an effective educator and program leader," Jackson said. "MSU has a strong and vital 4-H program with a dedicated staff that makes a positive impact on the youth of our state. Dr. Threadgill will continue to move the program forward."

Threadgill is originally from Livingston, Ala., and participated in 4-H. She has worked for MSU since 1994. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama, a master's degree from the University of Montevallo in Alabama, and a doctorate degree from MSU.
