Angle joins fundraising staff

David Angle

David Angle

Mississippi State is welcoming David Angle as the university’s new director of development for the College of Architecture, Art and Design. The Tallassee, Alabama, native began his duties with the MSU Foundation fundraising staff in December.

A 1989 Auburn University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, Angle began his career with the Boy Scouts of America in 1990, progressing into leadership positions within the organization throughout his career. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer and assistant scout executive for Indian Waters Council in Irmo, South Carolina.

“We are pleased to welcome David to our team of development professionals,” said Jack McCarty, executive director of development for the MSU Foundation. “He brings 30 years of professional experience in providing leadership, building relationships with donors and volunteers, and raising money for special projects -- all of which will be beneficial to his duties to advance the College of Architecture, Art and Design and our university.”

In leading the major gifts program for CAAD, Angle’s fundraising duties also will extend to the college’s research centers, including the Fred Carl, Jr. Small Town Center and Gulf Coast Community Design Studio. CAAD includes the School of Architecture, Department of Art and academic programs in interior design and building construction science. The architecture program is the only one of its kind in Mississippi, interior design is the only accredited program in the state, and building construction science is one of only two studio-based programs of its kind in the nation.

“To say that I am excited about the opportunity to work for such a great institution would be an understatement,” Angle said. “I’m looking forward to working with the development staff, and I hope that my years of fundraising experience will bolster the impact the MSU Foundation has on students and faculty alike.”

Angle may be reached at dangle@foundation.msstate.edu or 662-325-2542.
