Ramsey named associate director of MSU Alumni Association

Jordan Ramsey

The Mississippi State University Alumni Association recently welcomed alumna and Starkville native Jordan Reinschmiedt Ramsey as associate director of the organization founded in 1885 by the first three graduating classes of the 140-year-old land-grant institution. She began her new duties June 18.

During her time as an MSU student, Ramsey gained early exposure to alumni programs and alumni relations as a member of Alumni Delegates, the longtime student ambassador organization of the MSU Alumni Association. As associate director, she helps manage day-to-day operations, shares responsibilities for strategic planning and alumni engagement efforts, and oversees affinity partner programs, including the Traveling Bulldogs and the MSU Ring Tradition, among others. Ramsey also will serve as a liaison with college and school alumni programs for the university and oversee the MSU Alumni Association Career Network. Additionally, she will advise the Alumni Delegates.

“Jordan is a valuable alumna who possesses vast institutional knowledge coupled with a passionate love of our university that she brings to this role,” said Jeff Davis, the association’s executive director. “We are excited to welcome her as part of our revered association, and we anticipate further growth as she helps lead our efforts to instill an appreciation of Mississippi State in future generations of Bulldog graduates and unify them as alumni association members around the world.”

Ramsey is a 2006 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Mississippi State’s dual-degree international business program, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She also holds an international business certificate in international business and culture and has studied abroad at the University of Costa Rica. She later earned an MBA from MSU in 2015, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Ramsey joins the Alumni Association from the MSU Office of Internal Audit, where she has served as associate director of internal audit since August 2012 and earlier as audit manager. Before joining MSU, she worked in internal audit at FedEx Services, beginning in mid-2005 and continuing through 2011, concluding her time there as a senior auditor for the international team. Throughout her professional career, she has traveled to more than 18 countries.

“Growing up in Starkville and being exposed to Mississippi State from a very young age has created many dynamic experiences for me. It was these experiences, such as studying abroad and serving as an Alumni Delegate, that helped shape me into the person and alumna that I am today,” said Ramsey. “As associate director, I want to make a tremendous difference to future generations of Bulldog graduates by helping lead the MSU Alumni Association and working with its national board of directors and countless volunteers to drive the MSU impact worldwide.”

Beyond her professional experience, Ramsey serves as treasurer of the MSU College of Business Advisory Board and enjoys active service with many community and civic organizations in the Starkville-MSU area.

Mississippi State currently has nearly 142,000 living alumni and 101 chapters and clubs worldwide. For more information on the association’s activities, visit www.alumni.msstate.edu. Ramsey may be contacted at jramsey@alumni.msstate.edu or 662-325-3479.
