Parsons attains hazardous materials transportation certification

Michael Parsons, Mississippi State University's hazardous materials transportation subject matter lead, recently achieved the Certified Dangerous Goods Professional (CDGP) designation from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM).
One of only a handful worldwide and the first in Mississippi, he joins an elite and unique group of professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to transport and secure hazardous materials and dangerous goods in accordance with international regulations, including the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, International Civil Aviation Organization’s Technical Instructions and the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code.
Parsons is also a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and is director of the university's Office of Environmental Health and Safety.
