Student kickoff meeting for EcoCAR 2 Tuesday

The kickoff meeting for Mississippi State's EcoCAR 2 program will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 12:30 pm at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS). The meeting is open to any and all MSU students who are interested in getting involved with the competition.

The meeting will feature presentations by the leadership of the team, including faculty advisor Marshall Molen, team leader Matthew Doude, and group leaders Lee Pratt, Jonathan Moore and Josh Hoop.

This is the team's primary recruiting event for the year. Pizza, drinks and ice cream will also be provided. Students are encouraged to arrive early as a large crowd is expected.

The meeting will be held in conjunction with Movin' Maroon, a showcase of alternative-fuel vehicle technologies developed by MSU. There will be a Ride-and-Drive event where guests can take a spin in several vehicles, including the MSU EcoCAR and a Nissan Leaf.

There will also be several static vehicle displays, including a 2012 Chevy Malibu (representing the EcoCAR 2 vehicle platform) and a KLLM 18-wheeler tractor. There will also be tours of the newly-complete addition to the CAVS dynamometer facility.
