David Buys

Mississippi State University Extension Service health specialist David Buys will be a panelist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's largest annual meeting.

The USDA Agricultural Outlook Forum hosts more than 1,500 attendees each year. Buys, also a researcher with the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, will be one of more than 100 speakers and moderators at the forum.

A session featuring Buys will focus on national security through agricultural production. He will discuss consumer issues and food choice behavior.

According to the USDA, the Agricultural Outlook Forum is a platform to facilitate conversation of important issues in agriculture. Government officials, policy makers, agricultural producers and academic representatives attend the conference.

This year’s theme is A New Horizon: The Future of Agriculture. The conference is in Arlington, Virginia on Feb. 23-24.
