Marketing, video department hires in Athletics

Mississippi State Athletics has announced the hiring of Jake Amodio as assistant director of marketing and Nicole Reighter as assistant director of video operations for Hail State Productions.

Amodio brings over three years of marketing experience to MSU, including the 2015-16 athletic year when he was as a marketing assistant at the University of Rhode Island in charge of managing men’s basketball gameday operations and the day-to-day planning, creation and implementation of soccer marketing. He also assisted in on-field promotions with the Rams’ football team.

“Jake has been immersed in collegiate athletics for years and will bring fresh ideas to our marketing team,” MSU Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing Leah Beasley said. “He’ll be a great fit, and we’re eager to put him to work as we continue to promote the Mississippi State brand.”

Amodio spent four years as a student marketing assistant at Duquesne, working closely with the men’s and women’s basketball programs. He earned a degree in sports marketing from Duquesne in 2015, a year after he served as a summer corporate sales and marketing intern for the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins.

Reighter comes to Starkville after two years as a production assistant for the University of South Carolina’s Gamecock Productions. She edited game highlights, created marketing and hype videos and produced segments for the “South Carolina Insider” show that aired on Fox Sports South. She worked extensively with the Gamecocks’ baseball program, creating and editing coaches shows.

“Nicole has done some great work during her time at South Carolina and has a great understanding of video production in the Southeastern Conference,” MSU Assistant Athletic Director of Video Operations Drew Walker said. “We look forward to having her as part of our team and creating content that Mississippi State fans can be proud of.”

Reighter served on South Carolina’s SEC Network production crew, and she completed two summer internships with the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets (2015) and WCCB-TV in Charlotte (2014). A President’s List and Dean’s List recipient, she graduated from South Carolina earlier this spring and studied abroad in Spain as well.
