DAFVM Spotlight Employee: Mohammed 'Mo' Rahim

Mo Rahim

Mohammed “Mo” Rahim is the guy everyone in the Forest and Wildlife Research Center and College of Forest Resources turns to when they have technology problems.

As the network analyst for both units, Mo manages day-to-day operations related to support issues, system log files, server verification, database performance and backups of file server data.

He loves working with computers and technology, so working at MSU is a perfect fit.

“My most important job is keeping my users working and happy,” he said.

In addition to regular maintenance, Mo is instrumental in adopting and installing new technology.

“One of my favorite memories on the job is all of the compliments I received after I finished installing eight technology podiums in Thompson Hall,” he said. “These podiums provided faculty everything they needed to deliver multimedia presentations with the touch of a button and practically zero set-up time.”

Mo and his wife of 15 years, Jessica, have two daughters who attend Starkville Christian School: Jayden and Skyler.

In his free time, Mo enjoys going to yard sales, estate sales and flea markets in search of Coca-Cola signs and collectibles, as well as retro video game systems, such as Nintendo 64 and Super Nintendo.
