DAFVM Spotlight Employee: Cathy McMullen

Cathy McMullen

As someone passionate about community service, working as an office associate in the MSU Extension Service office in Benton County couldn’t be a better fit for Cathy McMullen.

“I have the most wonderful job a person could want,” she said. “It suits my lifestyle. No two days are ever alike. We work with 4-H youth, and we help people -- whether it’s with their livestock, forestry land, farms or gardens.”

Cathy described her job as one of general office responsibilities, from answering the phone and greeting the public, to helping the agents with programs. She loves the new office space they moved into recently.

“I love the people I work with and the people I meet,” Cathy said.

Outside the office, Cathy stays busy working at community events and spending time with her family. She is married to Arnie, who has served as the sheriff of Benton County for almost 30 years.

“We share five children -- two daughters and three sons,” Cathy said. “We have 13 grandchildren -- 10 boys and three girls. There is never a dull or quiet moment when we get together during the holidays.”
