Godwin earns APR professional certification

The publications manager for Mississippi State University's High Performance Computing Collaboratory has achieved a top professional designation.

Diane Godwin recently attained Accredited in Public Relations (APR) certification from the Universal Accreditation Board.

Accreditation sets standards of ethical practice and demonstrates a mastery of the public relations profession. She is one of 5,000 public relations professionals in the field to receive this designation.

In her publication and public relations role, Godwin directs and oversees the research, educational, outreach and publication activities for HPC2 and its affiliated research units. Prior to joining the HPC2 administration team, Godwin worked as a program manager for the Research and Curriculum Unit and as a technical writer for the Bagley College of Engineering.

Godwin serves on the Starkville Habitat for Humanity board of directors, and is a member of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi, the Southern Public Relations Federation and the Public Relations Society of America.

She holds a bachelor's degree in communication with an emphasis in business marketing and public relations from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a master’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix.
