FWRC's Fleming achieves certification
Jonathan Paul Fleming, research associate and GIS coordinator in the university's Forest and Wildlife Research Center, recently received certifications in his field.
Fleming received certification as a GIS professional by the GIS Certification Institute and ArcGIS Desktop Professional Certification from software developer Esri. A certified Geographic Information Systems Professional has met the minimum standards for ethical conduct and professional practice as established by the GIS Certification Institute.
Certification requires achievement in three areas: educational achievement, professional experience and contributions to the profession.
To earn Esri Technical Certification, candidates have to successfully pass an examination that assesses knowledge and skills cultivated through their years of GIS experience.
