Jenkins named business college fundraiser

Robert E. "Rob" Jenkins Jr. is the new director of development for Mississippi State's College of Business.

A 1992 business administration graduate of the university, he has five years of fundraising experience with his alma mater, working previously as development director for the College of Arts and Sciences.

In his new role that began Wednesday [June 15], Jenkins continues those responsibilities with another of MSU's major academic units, including the business college's Richard C. Adkerson School of Accountancy.

"We are extremely pleased to fill this post with Rob Jenkins, whose previous experience demonstrates his potential to secure support for areas where private giving is critical for Mississippi State's success," said Jack McCarty, MSU Foundation executive director of development.

"Rob has been an invaluable member of the development team, and we look forward to his leadership in building relationships to advance the College of Business and MSU," he added.

Jenkins joined the fundraising staff in 2006 as development director for the College of Education. Prior to that, he was at AmSouth Bank and held positions in sales with Sanderson Plumbing Products Inc.

One of the Southeast's oldest, the College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the world's leading credentialing organization for business schools. Its graduates are found at the top levels of Fortune 500 businesses, as well as throughout state and regional commercial and industrial firms.
