Messac elected to A.I.A.A. board of directors



Achille Messac


Achille Messac, a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Mississippi State University, has been elected to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics board of directors.

A Massachusetts Institute of Technology doctoral graduate in aeronautical and astronautical engineering, he also holds MIT bachelor's and master's degrees in aeronautical and astronautical engineering. He began his professional career in 1981 with the internationally recognized Charles Stark Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, Mass.

His new book, "Optimization in Practice with MATLAB — For Engineering Students and Professionals," was published by Cambridge Press Inc., UK, in March.

Messac is one of two academics elected by the A.I.A.A.'s international membership to serve on the board.
