Shurden attains APR designation

The assistant director for recruiting and events in Mississippi State University's College of Business has achieved a top professional designation.

Starkville native Meagan Shurden was recently awarded Accredited in Public Relations (APR) certification by the Universal Accreditation Board.

Accreditation sets standards of ethical practice and demonstrates a mastery of the public relations profession. She is one of 5,000 public relations professionals in the field to receive this designation.

Shurden, who joined the College of Business in 2012, received her bachelor of arts degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations from MSU. She serves on the board of the Southern Public Relations Federation and the Public Relations Association of Mississippi, and represents the Starkville community as a Greater Starkville Development Partnership Ambassador.
