HailState.com redesign revealed

As Mississippi State University fans gear up for the 2014 fall season, the buzz surrounding Bulldog Athletics is fueled by a sleeker looking and smoother functioning HailState.com, the official website for the Mississippi State University Department of Athletics.

HailState.com has always provided detailed data, high quality video, photos and much more pertinent information centered around the Bulldogs’ 16 championship caliber sports. And now HailState.com will be better and easier to use across multiple devices.

Working with digital media partner NeuLion, the official Mississippi State website now features a mobile-friendly design. The site's innovative responsive technology scales the presentation to fit the user’s device of choice -- desktop, tablet or mobile.

With mobile usage rising significantly with MSU fans and recruits in recent years (up from 37% in 2012-13 to 42% in 2013-14, and continuing to trend upward), HailState.com is now optimized for mobile viewing in addition to quality desktop and tablet presentations.

"Our long standing partnership with Mississippi State has hit another milestone with the launch of the new responsive designed HailState.com,” noted Ed O’Brien, vice president at NeuLion. “We collaboratively worked to bring a clean, simple, mobile first experience that will allow fans to engage with MSU Athletics like never before."

HailState.com continues to present an enhanced online experience featuring rosters, schedules, statistics, video, social media integration and other exclusive content surrounding the Bulldog Athletic program. State fans will notice a new video viewing experience, featuring lightbox technology that presents videos on top of the page currently being viewed, but without taking the user away from the page itself.

"The primary focus in our redesign process was outfitting HailState.com with technology that best allows our fans to access it on any device they are using. Mississippi State fans have gone mobile more and more each year and our new site is a simplified experience for all fans with a focus toward the ever-growing mobile segment," MSU Senior Associate Athletic Director Scott Wetherbee said.

“While achieving that goal, we also made sure to maintain the integrity of the site from a content and user-friendly standpoint, keeping intact the things our fans most want to access on a daily basis,” he said.

HailStateTV Becomes HailStatePLUS

With the global launch of the SEC Network last week also comes a change in MSU’s official streaming platform. HailStateTV is now under the new name of HailStatePLUS. With all previous live video broadcasts of games through HSTV moving to the SEC Network, the new HailStatePLUS will continue to carry live audio streams of MSU football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball. In addition, fans will still be able to access special on-demand video content through HailStatePLUS moving forward, including new shows to include “Bulldog Review” and “MSU Insider with Bob Carskadon".

Subscriptions to HailStatePLUS will be $3.99 per month.
