acilities Management results in, and survey says...

Members of Mississippi State's Facilities Management team are taking steps to implement suggestions provided by the 838 people who took part in FM's 2010 Annual Survey.

"This survey provides us with important information as we continue to enhance operations across campus," said Amy Tuck, Executive Director of Campus Operations. "It is one of the tools we are using to maximize efficiency and provide a superior customer service experience."

Overall, a majority of survey participants reported a favorable level of service with Facilities Management. The appearance of campus grounds and the attitudes of maintenance and customer service personnel were rated "very satisfied."

In response to survey comments, the department has implemented a process whereby e-mail notifications are sent to provide status updates on service requests and online forms now provide an opportunity to provide feedback on work performed by FM employees.

The survey revealed several opportunities for improvement, including: examining the efficiency of custodial services, looking at the effectiveness of the recycling program, and providing more information on the FM website (http://www.fm.msstate.edu/).

"After the final report has been reviewed, we will work together to develop appropriate action plans in response to the feedback the campus community provided. We want to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the survey," said Assistant Director for Business Operations Angie Waller, who coordinated the survey project. "We will be sure to keep everyone posted on our progress."
