Three Mississippi State University Bagley College of Engineering publications have earned recognition in a regional public relations competition.

Each of the college’s competition entries -- Momentum magazine, Dimensions annual report and the 2012 Dean’s Report -- received Awards of Excellence at this year’s Southern Public Relations Federation Lantern Awards ceremony. These publications, with the addition of the 2012 Homecoming t-shirt, earned Awards of Excellence from the Public Relations Association of Mississippi PRism competition earlier this year.

Produced annually by the BCoE publications office, Momentum, Dimensions and the Dean’s Report feature original news stories and information about the college and its students, faculty and alumni. They were honored in the special purpose publication, annual report and direct mail categories, respectively. The 2012 Homecoming t-shirt “There’s no such thing as too much cowbell” was entered in PRAM’s organizational identity category.

This was the fifth year the publications office has entered the annual SPRF and PRAM competitions. In that time it has earned more than 25 awards for its print and electronic publications, as well as its Homecoming promotions.

The BCoE's publications office consists of publications manager Heather Rowe and publications editor Susan Lassetter. Former communications specialist Todd Dickey contributed online video content for Momentum. Former copy editor Allen Snow and photographers Beth Wynn, Megan Bean and Russ Houston of Mississippi State's Office of Public Affairs provided additional support for these publications.

The Southern Public Relations Federation is a network of more than 1,300 public relations professionals from advertising and public relations agencies, corporations, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi. PRAM consists of approximately 600 members from the same fields in the Magnolia State.
