Mississippi State University's Bagley College of Engineering hosted a special event on the Coast last week at Stennis Space Center.

Lori Bruce, associate dean for research and graduate studies, and Rita Burrell, manager for graduate and distance education, welcomed MSU alumni, current distance education students and Stennis personnel interested in Bagley's distance ed programs to a reception in the lobby of the MSU Science and Technology Center.

The $9-million, 38,000-square-foot research facility funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is the Hancock County home for the MSU-led Northern Gulf Institute and researchers from the land-grant institution's Geosystems Research Institute. NOAA's National Coastal Data Development Center and an Engineering Branch of NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service are other building tenants.
