EASE participants gain knowledge

Participants in the 2010 Education for Administrative Support Employees (EASE) sessions took advantage of the opportunity to boost their knowledge during the 10-week training program, which is designed to provide new administrative support staff with the tools to perform their jobs effectively.

At the beginning of the program, the EASE class was given a surprise pre-test during their first meeting to benchmark their level of knowledge. The pre-test scores averaged 58%. At the conclusion of the training sessions, they took a second test to assess progress and knowledge gain, and the scores averaged 94%.

Session topics included basic department internal controls, business writing skills, communication skills, diversity, professional image, purchasing, time management, travel and the employment process.
