ORC&S offering 'Lab Safety for Non-Lab Workers' workshop July 12

Do you work by or around laboratories? Ever wonder what all of those signs and symbols mean to you? Are you responsible for inventory in labs or handling packages?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, the Office of Regulatory Compliance and Safety has the perfect workshop for you.

"Lab Safety for Non-Lab Workers" is a free 30-minute workshop for administrative and office assistants, business managers, facilities maintenance and all other personnel who work near laboratories. The goal of the course is to make all personnel aware of the risks associated with working around certain laboratories, how to identify them and to be prepared for emergencies. Topics covered in the class include laboratory signage, restricted laboratories and areas, laboratory entry requirements and emergency response.

Upcoming training session dates and locations are:

Tuesday, July 12 at 11 a.m. in 1135 Hand Laboratory

Wednesday, August 10 at 3:30 p.m. in the Wise Center Seminar Room (behind operator's desk)
