Will your software work with Windows 8? ITS has a list for that

Since the release of Windows 8 in October 2012, software vendors have been working to certify a version of their software that will function correctly on the new Microsoft operating system.

According to MSU Information Technology Services, there are a number of software packages in use on campus that are not yet certified by the vendor to work correctly with Windows 8. While non-certified software may work fine, there are no guarantees and no vendor support if you encounter problems.

A list of significant software in use at MSU, along with its Windows 8 certification status, can be found at http://its.msstate.edu/support/desktop/windows8.

If you are thinking about buying a new computer, ITS encourages you to review the list before making a purchase decision.
