Blackboard Learn info sessions this week to prepare for myCourses upgrade

Blackboard Vista, the software that currently powers the myCourses learning management system, is being discontinued. In response, MSU's Instructional Technology Advisory Committee recommended last year that the University move to Blackboard Learn.

The transition to this new product has involved long-term planning, implementation, and testing by a number of campus units. Additionally, a group of 30 faculty members are currently engaged in a pilot project utilizing Blackboard Learn for spring semester classes.

Effective Maymester 2013, Blackboard Learn will replace Vista as the myCourses learning management system.

As we transition to the new system, we are recommending that faculty attend one of the following information sessions, followed by training that will be offered after spring break.

Dates, times, and locations for these information sessions are:

-- Feb. 18, 9-10 a.m., Grisham Room

-- Feb. 19, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Library Auditorium

-- Feb. 22, 2:30-3:30 p.m., Library Auditorium

Registration is available on the Center for Teaching and Learning website at http://www.ctl.msstate.edu.
