ORC&S, HRM partner for defibrillator training session Tuesday

The Office of Regulatory Compliance & Safety and Human Resources Management are partnering to bring Medic First Aid International training to campus on Tuesday [April 12] from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Room 231 of Colvard Student Union.

After participating in the three-hour interactive session, attendees will be certified to administer an automated external defibrillator (AED).

This program will help university employees in responding to and caring for medical emergencies at work. Topics covered in the program include: basic AED operation and basic maintenance of an AED. The AED used in this training is the Philips Onsite Heartstart, the only AED that can be purchased without a medical prescription.

Only MSU employees that hold a current certification from the Medic Basic CPR and First Aid may participate in the AED training.

Each class is limited to 12 participants and a minimum of 7 attendees must be present to hold the class. Please wear comfortable clothes to the session.
