Longest Student Health Center offers tips to help stay well during flu season

Flu season has arrived, and the Longest Student Health Center at Mississippi State has a few tips to help you stay well and to help prevent the spread of the flu virus.

-- Wash your hands frequently.

-- Fist or elbow bump instead of handshake.

-- Limit your attendance at large events where many people are crowded in tight spaces.

-- Try to avoid others who are coughing and sneezing or have the flu.

-- Toss tissues after using them.

-- Stay home if you are sick.

-- Visit www.cdc.gov/flu for more information.

If you find yourself with flu symptoms -- fever, coughing, sore throat, headache, body aches, runny nose -- medical attention is helpful and medication can be prescribed to assist with the symptoms and reduce the time frame of illness. Contact the Longest Student Health Center at (662) 325-7539 to schedule an appointment.
