Health disparities partnership celebration Monday at the Hunter Henry Center

Join the Office of Research and Economic Development and the Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine on Monday [April 18] for a celebration officially launching a new initiative between Mississippi State University, the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities.

Dr. Rick deShazo, UMMC distinguished professor of medicine, pediatrics and immunology, and a host for "Southern Remedy" on Mississippi Public Broadcasting, is serving as keynote speaker as the three entities sign a memorandum of understanding creating this innovative partnership.

Special guests and speakers also include MSU President Mark E. Keenum, Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs LouAnn Woodward and Associate Vice Chancellor for Population Health Bettina Beech.

The special event begins at 11 a.m. in the Hunter Henry Center's Parker Ballroom.
