Green Zone Initiative training sessions this week
The G. V. "Sonny" Montgomery Center for America's Veterans at Mississippi State is offering Green Zone Initiative training for faculty and staff next week. The Green Zone program encourages awareness of and advocacy for student veterans, service members and dependents at MSU.
Participants in the training sessions will learn how to better mentor or help veterans, service members or dependents. Training will provide basics about how to be an active listener, cover various issues and concerns of veterans, and share resources that can be utilized to help veterans.
Sessions will be held Tuesday [Jan. 27] from 2-5 p.m., and Wednesday [Jan. 28] from 2-5 p.m. in Colvard Student Union's Fowlkes Auditorium. Refreshments will be served.
