IHL's Boyce featured speaker for commencement
Mississippi’s higher education commissioner will be featured speaker for both of Mississippi State’s 2016 spring graduation programs. “This will be a very meaningful commencement in that we’re honoring two of our most loyal alumni in Jim Rouse and Bud Thompson and our graduates will have a chance to hear a challenge from IHL Commissioner Glenn Boyce,” said MSU President Mark E. Keenum.

Professor Forde was among the guest speakers at the event in April. University sets historic fundraising goal: $1 billion
Inspired by the overwhelming response to “Infinite Impact” -- the most successful fundraising campaign in university history -- Mississippi State University President Mark E. Keenum announced a historic retargeting of the campaign with a fundraising goal of $1 billion by 2020 during a news conference last week at The Mill at MSU.
Annual banquet celebrates research success
Sixty Mississippi State students, faculty and staff are 2016 selections for exceptional research and leadership honors. MSU President Mark E. Keenum welcomed honorees, their guests and senior administrators to a campus awards luncheon last week in the Hunter Henry Center’s Hal and Linda Parker Ballroom. Wes Burger was recognized with the afternoon’s top honor: the 2016 Ralph E. Powe Research Excellence Award.
Faculty, staff members receive major honors
Two longtime Mississippi State researchers and administrators are receiving the university’s highest faculty recognition. Richard L. Brown and Alan I. Marcus formally were named William L. Giles Distinguished Professors during last week's 2015-16 Faculty Awards and Recognition Program.
Campbell joins prestigious Penland board
A Mississippi State art faculty member is positioned to officially join the policy making body of an international institution specializing in craft education. Critz Campbell, an associate professor at the university, recently was elected to an eight-year term as a board trustee at North Carolina’s Penland School of Crafts. A West Point resident and Clay County native, he is a Penland alumnus.
