The Holmes Cultural Diversity Center's Borderless Hosts program is seeking volunteer host families and international students for the fall and spring semesters. The program pairs an MSU international student with a local family and gives both an opportunity for cultural learning and understanding.

Jack Cristil book orders now being accepted
Orders are now being accepted for the biography of Mississippi State's legendary sports broadcaster. "Jack Cristil: The Voice of the Bulldogs" is written by university alumnus and veteran newsman Sid Salter. Best-selling author and fellow alumnus John Grisham is providing the book's foreword.

Soccer takes on Jackson State at 4 p.m. Friday in Jackson and then Southern Miss Sunday at 1 p.m. in Hattiesburg.... Volleyball opens play in the Community Bankers Classic at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. at 9 p.m. Friday.... Cross-Country runs the Sewanee Invitational in Tennessee Saturday.

IHL Board of Trustees extends Keenum's contract
Mississippi State University President Mark E. Keenum received a great vote of confidence from the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning when they voted unanimously to extend his contract for four more years.
ORED's Research Seminar Series kicks off Monday
"From Idea to Conception: How to Turn Your Idea Into a Proposal" kicks off the 2011-12 Research Seminar Series presented by the Office of Research and Economic Development at Mississippi State. The opening session takes place Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Grisham Room.
General Faculty meeting Tuesday at 2 p.m.
The fall meeting of the General Faculty is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bettersworth Auditorium of Lee Hall. The program will include a report by President Mark E. Keenum on topics of general interest to the Mississippi State community, followed by a time for questions and discussion.
Library hosts successful technology conferences
Mitchell Memorial Library hosted more than 100 librarians, administrative staff members, libraries and information sciences students, and other professionals from across the country for its annual MidSouth e-Resource Symposium and Emerging Technologies Summit Aug. 11-12.
