Jack Cristil book orders now being accepted
Orders are now being accepted for the biography of Mississippi State's legendary sports broadcaster. "Jack Cristil: The Voice of the Bulldogs" is written by university alumnus and veteran newsman Sid Salter. Best-selling author and fellow alumnus John Grisham is providing the book's foreword.

Campus volunteers mobilize for move in Wednesday
A young tradition continues for the sixth consecutive year Wednesday when Mississippi State mobilizes more than 500 volunteers to assist new freshmen moving into university residence halls. With the addition of several new facilities constructed in recent years, MSU now houses nearly 4,000 students on campus.
Brown named new MSU-Meridian dean, associate VP
A Kansas university administrator with an extensive background in arts and music education is the new dean and associate vice president of Mississippi State University's Meridian campus. Since 2007, Steven F. Brown has been dean of liberal arts and sciences at Emporia State University.
Keith new director of Swalm School of Chem Eng
A scholar from the Great Lakes region is the new Earnest W. Deavenport Jr. Chair and director of Mississippi State University's Dave C. Swalm School of Chemical Engineering. Jason M. Keith, formerly of Michigan Technological University, officially joined the Bagley College of Engineering department Aug. 1.
McRae now directing Center for America's Veterans
A veteran of more than three decades with the Alabama National Guard is the new head of Mississippi State's G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Center for America's Veterans. Retired Army Colonel Kenneth D. "Ken" McRae leads the university program that provides comprehensive, professional services to student veterans, service members, dependents and survivors.
